With Australian Dental Association NSW support, DHA has initiated a marketing program aimed at creating a range of bottled water and soft drinks containing fluoride (F) to enable consumers to choose these products in preference to those deficient in fluoride.
Market research suggests that ‘Drinks+F’ would have wide appeal, especially in regional locations where fluoride is not yet supplied in community tap-water.
DHA has worked with government to modify current food production regulations, to allow for bottled water and drinks to include fluoride at 1ppm.
A pilot program involving the Wollongong Dental Group of ADA NSW has been developed with presentations made to major national grocery chains.
